How to export your LinkedIn analytics
By Miles Burke · Updated · 5 minute read
The short answer
To export your personal LinkedIn analytics, open LinkedIn on a computer, choose "View all analytics" under your name, open Content analytics, set the date range to the past 365 days and press Export. LinkedIn downloads an Excel spreadsheet whose name starts with "AggregateAnalytics". It takes about a minute, is free, and the export button is not available in the phone app.
LinkedIn gives you two things worth saving. The export file is a spreadsheet covering up to a year of your posts and audience. The overview page holds a few weekly figures the file leaves out. Neither needs your LinkedIn password to be shared with anyone.
Export your analytics to a spreadsheet
About a minute. On a computer only.
- 1
Open LinkedIn on a computer
The export button is only on the desktop website, not in the phone app.
- 2
Go to your content analytics
From your home page, choose "View all analytics" under your name, then "Content analytics" (or "Post impressions").

Change the date filter to "Past 365 days". A longer range gives a better picture of your posts and audience.

Drop it into Postaboo
Drag the file onto the upload box on our home page, or click the box and pick it from your Downloads folder.
What is in the spreadsheet
The file opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. As of October 2026 it has six sheets:
| Sheet | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Discovery | Two totals for the period: impressions and members reached. |
| Engagement | One row for each day, with that day's impressions and engagements. |
| Top posts | Up to 50 posts ranked by engagements and up to 50 ranked by impressions, side by side, each with its link and publish date. |
| Followers | Your follower total on the last day, then new followers for each day. |
| Audience demographics | Who follows you: the top companies, locations, company sizes, seniority levels, job titles and industries, as percentages. |
| Content demographics | The same breakdown for the people who saw your posts, whether or not they follow you. |
A few things are worth knowing before you work with it:
- There is no time of day. Each post has a publish date only.
- Posts are capped at 50. If you posted more than that in the period, the quieter ones are missing.
- Demographics are percentages, not counts, and very small groups are shown as "less than 1%".
- Profile viewers and search appearances are not included. They are only on the overview page, below.

What to do with the file
You can read the spreadsheet yourself: our guide to personal LinkedIn analytics explains how. Whatever you do, keep the file. LinkedIn only goes back 365 days, so a saved export is the only record you will have of older posts. See how to keep your analytics history.
Common questions
I cannot find the Export button. Where is it?
It is at the top right of the Content analytics page, and only on the desktop website, not in the phone app. LinkedIn moves things around from time to time, so the wording may differ slightly from the steps here.
What is in the LinkedIn analytics export file?
Six sheets: your total impressions and members reached, daily impressions and engagements, your 50 top posts, daily new followers, and two breakdowns of who follows you and who sees your posts. It does not contain your messages, connections or password.
Why paste the overview page as well?
It has figures the export leaves out: profile viewers, search appearances, and how much you posted and commented this week. LinkedIn only shows the current figures, so noting them weekly builds a history you cannot get anywhere else.
Does Postaboo keep my file?
No. The file is read once and discarded. Postaboo stores the numbers taken from it so your report keeps working.
See this in your own numbers
Postaboo turns the analytics file LinkedIn lets you download into a clear report, and keeps your history as it grows. Free, with no LinkedIn login.
