Frequently asked questions
How Postaboo works, what it does with your LinkedIn analytics, and how to get the most from your report.
Getting started
What is Postaboo?
Postaboo turns your personal LinkedIn analytics into a clear report. You give it the analytics file LinkedIn lets you download, and it shows what is working: your trends, your best days and times, how each post did against your usual, who is actually seeing your posts, and a week-by-week history.
Is it free?
Yes. Creating a report and checking in each week is free. A premium level, which adds a written summary and a weekly plan, is being introduced gradually and is not on general sale yet. Email us if you would like to be considered for it.
Do I have to give you my LinkedIn password?
No, never. Postaboo does not connect to your LinkedIn account at all. You download your own analytics from LinkedIn and upload the file to us.
What do I need to get started?
An email address and your LinkedIn analytics export, which is a spreadsheet file LinkedIn creates for you. It takes about a minute to download.
Does it work on a phone?
Partly. LinkedIn only offers the export on its desktop website, so your first report needs a computer. After that, reading your report and doing your weekly check-in both work on a phone.
Does it work for company pages?
Not at the moment. Postaboo reads the analytics for personal LinkedIn profiles, which is a different export from the one company pages have.
Your report
How often can I update my report?
You can add a new export every 5 days, and paste your overview page for a weekly check-in whenever you like. If you upload the wrong file the first time, you can replace it once within the first hour.
What happens to my old numbers when I upload a new export?
They are kept. Each new export is added to what you already have, so your history can grow past the 365 days LinkedIn itself offers.
Why should I paste my overview page each week?
It holds figures the export leaves out: profile viewers, search appearances, and how much you posted and commented that week. LinkedIn only ever shows the current week, so pasting it weekly builds a history you cannot get anywhere else.
How do you decide whether a post did well?
Each post is compared with your own typical post, not with other people. "High reach" means at least one and a half times your typical impressions; "below usual" means two-thirds or less. Posts from the last few days are marked as too new to judge, because they are still collecting views.
Why do some posts say "Scheduled" instead of a time?
For a scheduled post, LinkedIn records when you wrote it, not when it went live, so we cannot tell what time it was published. Those posts still count for day-of-week results but are left out of time-of-day results.
Why are some post titles just hashtags?
LinkedIn's export does not include the words of your posts. The only clue is the post's web address, which holds either its opening words or its first few hashtags. Where it holds hashtags, that is all we can show. Premium reports replace them with a plain-English label.
Why do some percentages have no up or down arrow?
On LinkedIn's overview page the arrow is a picture, and it is lost when you copy the text. Where we can work out the direction from your other numbers we show it. Where we cannot, the "Since your last check-in" panel shows the real change from one week to the next.
What does "off the chart" mean on a bar?
One week or day was so far above the rest that drawing it to scale would flatten every other bar. We shorten that bar, colour it differently and print its real figure on top.
Why does my report only include 50 posts?
LinkedIn includes at most your top 50 posts for the date range you export. If you post often, a 90-day export will include more of your recent posts, and because each upload is added to your history, the list fills in over time.
Can I track more than one LinkedIn profile?
Yes. Upload the other profile's export from the home page using the same email address. Each profile gets its own report and history, and they all appear under My reports.
Privacy and your account
Who can see my report?
Only you. Opening a report needs a sign-in link sent to your email address. The one exception is the browser you upload from, which can view the report until you close it, so your first report appears straight away.
Do you keep the file I upload?
No. The file is read once and discarded. We store the numbers taken from it so your report keeps working.
What is in the export file?
Daily impressions and engagements, your top posts with their dates and figures, daily new followers, and a percentage breakdown of who follows you and who sees your posts. It does not contain your messages, your connections or your password.
Why do you ask for my email address?
It is how you get back to your report: there are no passwords, so we email you a sign-in link when you ask for one. We also send occasional updates about Postaboo, which you can turn off at any time.
I did not get my sign-in email. What now?
Check your spam folder, and make sure you entered the same email address you used for your first report. Links expire after 30 minutes and work once, so ask for a fresh one if yours is older. If it still does not arrive, email us.
It says my LinkedIn profile already has an account under a different email. Why?
Each LinkedIn profile belongs to the first email address that uploaded it, so nobody else can claim your data. If you used a different address the first time, use that one. If it was a typing mistake, email us and we will move your profile to the right address.
How do I delete my data?
Sign in, open My reports, and use "Delete my data". It removes your email address, every report and all your weekly check-ins straight away.
Is Postaboo part of LinkedIn?
No. Postaboo is an independent product from Deliberate Pty Ltd in Australia. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to LinkedIn.
AI and premium
Does Postaboo use AI?
Every number, chart and score in your report is calculated by ordinary code, the same way each time. On premium reports, an AI model (Claude, from Anthropic) writes the summary, the weekly plan and the plain-English post titles, working only from those calculated figures.
What is sent to the AI?
Your calculated figures, the words from your post addresses, and anything you chose to add, such as your headline. Your email address and the links to your posts are not sent. Free reports send nothing to the AI.
What does premium add?
A written summary of what is happening on your account, a plan for the week (post ideas, profile changes, and who to engage with), readable titles for every post, your posts grouped into topics, and no limit on how often you add an export. The summary and plan refresh at most once a day.
How is this different from asking an AI chatbot about my analytics?
A chatbot sees one file, once. Postaboo keeps your history, including weekly figures LinkedIn itself throws away, and measures everything the same way every week so the numbers are comparable. The maths is done by code, not guessed by a language model.
